A Great Awakening by Pastor Ty
There are moments in history when God does not whisper—He thunders. Moments when He does not gently tap on the door of the human heart—He kicks it wide open. Moments when He does not politely ask for attention—He awakens a sleeping people. That is what happened in the 1700s during the Great Awakening. Churches were cold. Hearts were numb. Religion was routine. People had just enough Christianity to be comfortable, but not enough to be transformed.
The Bible says: 13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. 14 This is why it is said: “Awake, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” 15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. - Ephesians 5:13-16
The Great Awakening Revival fostered a sense of shared identity among colonists and laid the groundwork for questioning traditional authority, which would later contribute to the American Revolution. There was emphasis on liberty, freedom, and God given rights.
And today, God is still awakening hearts. He is still shaking nations. He is still calling His people out of spiritual sleep. Are you ready?
