Illuminate and Shine on Mother’s Day by Pastor Ty
There is something unmistakably powerful about light. Light doesn’t ask permission to be seen — it simply shines. It breaks through darkness. It reveals what was hidden. It brings warmth, clarity, and direction. And today, on this Mother’s Day, we celebrate the women whose lives have been what kind of light. When God spoke through Isaiah saying, “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you,” He wasn’t giving a suggestion — He was declaring an identity.
This is a word for mothers. This is a word for women. This is a word for anyone who has ever carried light into dark places. Because motherhood is not just a role — it’s a calling. It’s a ministry. It’s a divine assignment to illuminate homes, hearts, and generations. And today, we honor every mother who has ever stood in the gap, prayed in the midnight hour, held a family together, believed when others doubted, or loved when it was costly. You are the light-bearers. You are the glory-carriers. You are the ones God has anointed to Illuminate and Shine. So, as we step into Isaiah 60 today, we’re not just reading a passage — we’re stepping into a prophetic declaration over every mother in this room.
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn”. - Isaiah 60:1–3
God shines His glory on us so we can shine it toward others.
